Welcome to our homepage! Walkertown Volunteer Fire
Department is a group of dedicated people serving an
ever changing and growing community in the Northern
Piedmont Region of Northwest North Carolina. Our
department was established in 1953 and we continue today
with rich traditions and a genuine concern for the
safety and welfare of the citizens we serve.
As with a great number of fire and rescue departments
throughout North Carolina, we pride ourselves in
providing a much needed service to those in a time of
need. Our department members are a group of highly
dedicated professionals with a true compassion and a
sense of well being for their fellow citizens. As you

Chief Hutchins
is Native of Walkertown. He holds an Associate in
Applied Science Degree in Fire Protection Technology
from Guilford Technical Community College and a Bachelor
of Science Degree from Gardner-Webb University. He is
enrolled in the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire
Officer Program.
Chief Hutchins is the President of the Past President
Piedmont North Carolina Firefighters Association, a past
president of the Forsyth County Fire Rescue Association,
and currently serves as the first vice president of the
North Carolina State Firemen’s Association Executive
board.
